As we all know BBC Introducing Music is a fantastic programme that helps get the great musicians heard and the opportunity to put their foot in the Music Industry door, helping the likes of The 1975, Catfish And The Bottlemen and Wretch 32 – just […]
Sick video and an even sicker tune from EAGULLS! On the heels of recently sharing new song “Skipping”, Leeds’ Eagulls are back today to share the song’s video. The video reinforces the feeling that the track itself conveys — urgent and claustrophobic, yet decidedly beautiful. […]
Hold onto your hats everyone – East London is about to have a Scandi-Belgian invasion. Victoria+Jean are a duet to be reckoned with – two talented musicians who were brought together by fate in Brussels, and the rest is tuneful history. Victoria sings, Jean plays […]
We’ve got a new music adoration after watching a gig at Roadtrip Bar last night. Our new crush? NYNA. From the strong opening bars, haunting piano chords and husky, seductive voice of the female singer, we’re hooked. And then the remix comes in, and we’re tapping […]
We have a new band crush. They are a group of three sisters, with long flowing locks and a completely addictive sound, and they are from across the seas… no, we’re not about a million years late jumping onto the Haim bandwagon. Our new pieces of ear-candy are the Germein Sisters, who are all the way from Australia.
With their mix of melodic indie interspersed with catchy, up-beat pop, plus soulful, emotive lyrics and the kind of harmonies only siblings can truly nail, then the Germein Sisters should be your new go-to songstresses. There’s Georgia (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Ella (electric cello, bass, backing vocals), and Clara Germein (drums, guitar, backing vocals), and they are entertaining listeners across the globe. In fact, they rocked up Roadtrip Bar very recently, and are heading to Isle of Wight festival to set the stage ablaze!
They’ve already for a few accolades under their hippy-chick belts – securing a Top 5 nomination for Best Pop Artist, Best Band, and Best Song “Da Da Doo” in the Fowlers Live Music Awards; and First Prize in the prestigious Tamworth Country Music Festival Busking Competition (non-country section) 2014. Their sounds have been compared to The Corrs, Florence and The Machine, and Ellie Goulding.
So take a listen, see what you think, and become as addicted as we are to this fabulous three piece. Then watch as they gradually take over the world!
