UK based girl gang Dream Wife are set to release new single “Somebody” and it couldn’t be more perfect and punk for this day and age. Releasing their debut EP last year, Dream Wife received fantastic reception with support from NME, Dazed and The Guardian, even touring with Sleigh Bells and recently commencing a tour across America. Now the trio have confirmed their biggest UK date at Tufnell Park Dome on 27th April as headliners, that’s going to be awesome for sure.
Dream Wife are initially Pop as the beat is catchy with underlying electronic tones but its the scratchy vocals and indie electric guitar that resonates Punk. Don’t be fooled by three blonde chicks in a band and rolling eyes of pop, these girls are bad ass and our favourite girl gang of the year. “Somebody”‘s tone is cool and easy listening, you’ll find yourself singing along in no time! But the lyrics are personal, informative and political “I am not my body, I am somebody” is the ballad for women and inspiring for the young creatives listening. “Somebody” is empowering and not to be messed with, it’s important and iconic that Dream Wife have taken a stand with this message. You go girls!
